Clay and wood are such humble materials which turn into highly prized treasures when they leave the Cohen's studios. Poetry in motion is the first thing that comes to mind when describing this dynamic artist. Phyllis a retired interior designers, had taken classes years ago in sculpting but had not thought of it again until seven years ago when she found some free time between golfing/skiing and rollerblading to take classes once again. Her bronzes incorporate children at play, using the lost wax process; She begins the work in clay and cast in bronze. Her work ranges in size from 18 inches to 4 feet. Her pieces so "life like" that you think you have met these children and watched them playing. "My motivation evolves from capturing images of children enjoying moments of activity and pleasure". |
