Nina Gelardi is an internationally recognized artist working professionally in the Art of Crafts since 1980. She has worked extensively in the Ceramic Arts, Metal Craft, Mixed Media Collage and most recently Footwear and Accessory Design.
From 1980 -1998, Nina was a partner in Clayphernalia Studio and Gallery near Princeton, NJ. In 1986, in addition to creating her pit fired sculptural clay pieces, she expanded her talent and designed a collection of women’s accessories to include clay and metal one of a kind belt buckles with hand painted leathers, leather handbags and fabricated mixed media jewelry. Her collection: Nina Gelardi Designs, is marketed internationally to fine clothing boutiques, museum shops and specialty stores.
From 1997-2005, she became the senior footwear designer for Art effects Footwear. Nina has travelled all over the world to attend footwear and fashion shows in Italy, Brazil, Spain, Hong Kong and India. She used this opportunity to study the art and culture of each country and to collect for unusual artifacts to use in her work.
Nina Gelardi Design Studio is now in Hobe Sound, Florida. When she is not travelling on a sacred journey or playing with her cat, Leo, she is designing and creating jewelry ornaments and mixed media collage for handmade leather and rubber sandals.
