Natalie L. is a self taught artist, born in Paris where she spent most of her life. In 1999 she started a somewhat "bohemian life style". Exploring the splendor of the Australian nature gave her the inspiration to paint it and thus living her dream of making a living of painting while traveling. Going back to Paris from time to time, she has done interior decorating and specializes in faux finish and "Zouaq" a Moroccan ornamental style of painting.
She then moved to Reunion, a mountainous French island in the Indian ocean, where she took interest in oil and created on canvas a series of her favorite place "The Rain Forest". " She spent time in Bora Bora, the "Pearl of the Pacific" and New Caledonia where she had her first solo exhibition. Her creations are largely influenced by these tropical islands.
One of the consequential experiences of her life was sailing around the world on a 33' wooden sloop with her husband whom she met in Vanuatu an Archipelago in the South Pacific. When she is not painting in her studio in Hobe Sound, she can be found sailing somewhere in the West Indies or maybe in the Chesapeake Bay. Natalie's love of nature is as deep as her love of Art. " I like researching new ways of interpreting what I see. I want something different that sparks an interest and makes the viewer wonder about my paintings."
