Nanette Carton.... Acrylics

Nanette Carton exclusively at the Garden of Goods Galleries in Hobe Sound

Beginning at a young age, Nanette found a love of drawing and painting. A native Floridian born in 1977, she is a self taught artist. Her love of gardening inspired her to paint flora. Her subjects extend farther with the use of her imagination to capture the mystic and holy lands of our world. Specializing in the use of acrylics on canvas she also renders wall murals and paints on river rocks and furniture. Nanette is an active member of the Hobe Sound FineArts League.
“I have found that nature and cheerful, bright colors inspire me. I enjoy rendering nature in many forms, from flowers and butterflies to sacred and spiritual sites.
Being in nature and surrounded by it’s grand energy, motivates my urge to create. Historical and mysterious places also fascinate me. To paint scenes of them is very uplifting. Creating and producing images of these dream-like worlds from imagination, are my favorites. They bring me freedom of expression as I contemplate their charm.”

"Machu Picchu" by Nanette Carton exclusively at the Garden of Goods Galleries. Machu Picchu sometimes called the “Lost City of the Incas” is a well-preserved pre-Columbian Inca ruin located at 7,970 ft. on a mountain ridge above the Urubamba Valley in Peru, northwest of Cusco. Forgotten for centuries by the outside world, although not by locals, it was brought back to international attention by archaeologist Hiram Bingham who discovered it in 1911.

The Pyramids by Nanette carton Exclusively at The Garden of Goods Galleries. Far Left: Representing Hathor w/ head plate, ancient sky goddess and with wings symbolizing the goddess, Isis, wife of Osiris and mother of Horus. Often they are commingled because both were great mother goddesses. This merging of religious and cult beliefs and practices is called syncretism. The Ankh, she is holding is a hieroglyphic symbol of life.Left Pyramid: The deity Anubis, from the Valley of the Kings, 18th dynasty. Surrounded by random hieroglyphs, Anubus was known as the god of imbalming and protector of the dead.Below Left: Rameses II aboard a war chariot, relief in the hall of the temple of Abu Simbel, depicts him defending the city of Dapur in the Orontes Valley. Middle Pyramid: The Egyptian Tree of Life, the birds represent various stages of human life. East, the direction of life and the west, with the setting sun, the direction of death.
