Joseph LaPierre

Joseph Lapierre was born in New Hampshire in 1945. He received a formal art education at the New England School of Art and the Boston Museum School of Art. A veteran of the Vietnam era, he painted murals for the United States Army. While continuing to develop his skills in the 70’s & 80’s, Joseph worked as an art director for corporations in California, New Hampshire, New Jersey and Florida. During that time, he also performed as a singer songwriter.
“Using a palette knife , I create thick textures that catch the light and cast shadows on the painting. As light angles change, the piece appears subtly different, creating a dynamic work not just a two dimensional wall hanging.”
