Originally from Long Island, NY, Joanna Squier is a self taught artist and has been a technical illustrator for over 35 years. Her earliest training was for Grumman Aircraft Company. As she ventures out in her career, she worked as a text book illustrator for McGraw Hill Publishers on college level textbooks. When Joanna moved to Port St Lucie in 1978, she continued with the same work as a free-lance artist.
As Joanna was nearing retirement, her love of painting was rewarding enough to become a full time artist. Joanna is also teaching drawing and painting for adults and kids.
When she completes a painting, she considers it a statement of Thanksgiving for the beauty of the world in which she lives. Joanna's garden is her favorite place to be, and she receives a lot of inspiration from the foliage, birds and butterflies she enjoys there.
