Cynthia cooper artist and entrepreneur is the owner of “The Framery”, Hobe Sound's premier frame shop and gallery. She is a graduate of Tusculum College in Greeneville, Tennessee and has a B.A. in mixed Media, Intaglio and Silk Screening.
Cindy’s art has been influenced by her international travels; In the late eighties, she brought a one way ticket to London and traveled the globe spending time in Greece, Australia, New Zealand, South Asia and South Africa.
“The most impressive and memorable artwork for me was by Philippine artists. There was so much anger expressed, that their work was suppressed by the government”.
Cindy who apprenticed in restorative techniques at the Canterbury Cathedral, is adept at restorative work and her reputation for this expertise is growing in southern Florida.
Her style developed from working with acid etchings. She worked with creating textures with silk screening which led to work incorporating natural materials and other mixed media on canvas. Her current work is a simplification of those techniques and is textured with sand and other materials.Cindy is an avid supporter of local organizations and as a member of the Barn artists she contributes to their charitable works and creations.
