Carol teaches Oil painting at The Garden of Goods Galleries
“Oil painting is my first love. I have worked in the other paint mediums, but always came back to oil. The paint can be blended to the soft color and edges I like in painting a flower. In a workshop in Rockport, I learned to use more color and less detail to paint like the impressionists.”
Born in Cleveland, Ohio, Carol Kepp loved to play with pencils and crayons and started painting at the age of 8, when a neighbor who was an artist asked her to dog sit in return for painting lessons. Her first award was in a high school competition sponsored by a local department store. After attending the Cleveland Institute of Art and the Cleveland Ad School, she worked in the advertising world for 12 years. She toured street art festivals for 8 years and then started teaching art. Carol has received over 20 awards. In 1976 her work was sent to Washington, DC and dispayed at the Daughters of the American Revolution Bincentennial Show. One of her paintings, “Hobe Sound Beach” was chosen for the 2004 Art For Living Calendar in Florida.
